Developing Healthy Habits IS the Key to PERMANENT Weight Loss

Yes, totally get it…with so many diets and exercise programs out there you’re probably feeling a bit overwhelmed about what to do and how to get results. That is why I am so excited to share with you my tips for creating healthy habits to achieve sustainable weight loss!

There is only one thing that makes weight loss successful and permanent: creating healthy habits.

When I was in my twenties I was a “serial dieter”. I was constantly jumping from one diet plan to the next and never stuck to anything for longer than a month. Any diet or exercise plan that I came across I would try but it wasn’t long before I would get bored with it and would be on to the “next best thing.”

That was my life. I thought I was healthy because I was always on a diet and because I exercised 3-5 times per week, drank green tea, didn’t smoke, took vitamins and wasn’t sick.

It wasn’t until after I had kids in my mid 30’s when my body no longer responded the way that it used to and diet and exercising stopped working for me that I realized how unhealthy I really was.


So I decided it was time for something different. I didn’t want to go on another diet because that meant I would come off. This time, I wanted something healthy and sustainable that would allow me to live a normal life but was effective at the same time.

Many of the popular exercise programs and diets are not only ineffective and unhealthy, but impractical and unrealistic for real women who are busy juggling both professional and family lives.

Most of us have kids. We have jobs. We have a career. We’ve got so many things going on. Aside from that, we tend to be too hard on ourselves when it comes to achieving our health, weight, or fitness goals.

Women need a solution that is healthy, safe and effective and that will make us feel positive rather than punished.

Since this miracle program I was looking for didn’t exist, I decided to create it. During my research I found the missing piece to the puzzle was the power of habits.

It’s ALL ABOUT DEVELOPING healthy habits

Here is what I uncovered. On a daily basis, with every action we take, with every choice we make, we are creating habits. We are either creating good habits or bad habits.

Bad habits are the reason we get addicted to certain foods.
Bad habits are the reason we feel lazy and unmotivated.
Bad habits are the reason we become overweight.
Bad habits are why we feel like it’s too hard to keep going and that it would be easier to just give up.

On the flip side… Good habits are what make it easier.
Good habits are what lead to results.
Good habits are what make it permanent.
What I realized what that there was nothing wrong with my body and I wasn’t really any different from the next woman.

It was just the simple fact that in all my years of being a professional dieter, I didn’t know about the power of habits.

When it all clicked and I finally understood that the only difference between me and the women with perfect health and an amazing body was habits, I immediately went ALL IN with learning everything I could about habits.

And the best part? Turns out it is just as easy to create good habits that our body will crave, as it was  to create the bad ones that our body craves. That’s right. Any habit (good or bad) can be manipulated and changed. Wouldn’t you rather crave good habits over bad habits? I would!

In my opinion, if you want to get healthy and lose weight without having to spend your life dieting there is only one way to go.

Creating healthy habits is really where it’s at.

So how do you create healthy habits and where do you start? It’s actually a lot easier than you think!

How to Develop Healthy Weight Loss Habits

Unfortunately reaching your weight loss goal can’t be achieved overnight. Your current routine and daily habits have gotten you into the situation you are in with your body and it takes small actions done everyday that turn into new habits that will give you the long term success.

1. Make A list Of All The Bad Habits That You Know You Shouldn’t Be Doing

First, you need to identify which daily habits are not serving you so that you can make the necessary steps to change them. Maybe it’s the muffin that goes with every Starbucks coffee you buy everyday on the way to work. Maybe it’s the mid afternoon sugary snack or energy drink that you just can’t make it through the day without. Or maybe it’s the few glasses of wine you have each night after dinner to unwind.

Perhaps it’s time to admit to yourself that these small little things add up and are not getting you to your goals.

It might surprise you to do this exercise because a lot of these things are on autopilot and have become “normal” to you and you might not even realize you’re doing them.

This is the first step. Write down everything that could be holding you back from the health and body you want.

Once you have those things listed out, you can become more causative over your life and more in control. You can identify the bad habits and take actions to remove them.

2. Make A List of The Things That You Should Be Doing

Second, you need to create new habits by doing the right daily actions consistently that will result in achieving your weight loss goals.

Let’s say you should be going to bed earlier at night. You should be eating at home more often. You should be drinking more water You should be taking your supplements twice a day instead of once a day.

These are some of the things that you need to list out that you know you should be doing, but you just let slip by. You make excuses. You don’t have time, you forgot, you’ll do it tomorrow.

If you started doing some of these simple things and creating habits out of them it makes a huge impact in your life.

The bottom line is this, when you list out the things that aren’t working well for you, and the things you should start doing, it’s easier to see what you need to stop doing and what habits you need to start doing to get results.
